It’s the Man of Steele!

Man of... Nahhh.

Not!

So, Michael Steele and his enablers at the RNC have their collective panties in a wad because the conservatives are a bunch of racists. Or something like that. Here’s the deal Michael, the Man of Steel YOU aren’t. When you got the job, I supported Ken Blackwell, but I was OK with you. Dude, I was wrong, you’ve been a bust. I’m going to assume our gentle readers have been following the cluster f gaffe filled term of your office so I won’t elaborate. The bottom line is simple. You’ve done less than a mediocre job, you made it about YOU! instead of working to raise serious money, recruit quality candidates and get Republicans elected. Instead, we got a mountain of debt, zero recruitment, you pissing on the Tea Party folks like a Washington insider (oh yeah, you are) until it was time to try to take credit for their efforts, and then there is the fact that a lot of Republicans got elected in November, but pretty much without your help. Can you say GOTV? No, apparently you can’t, but you can say “Hey Guam! Here’s some cash!”

Anyway, Politico has a cute piece today about how you and/or your elves are turning opposition to your reelection into a “racial/hater” thing.

A group of conservatives on the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) governing board have launched an “Anybody but Steele” campaign and are gathering pledges from other committee members that they won’t back the beleaguered party chairman, POLITICO has learned.

Members of the Republican National Conservative Caucus (RNCC) held a conference call and sent emails last week in attempt to build support for what they’re calling a “Resolution of Commitment.”

But the conservatives’ Dump Steele effort has caught the attention of the incumbent’s loyalists and just before Christmas touched off an angry, racially-tinged email exchange between Bopp, a supporter of Wisconsin GOP Chairman Reince Priebus’s RNC bid, and Idaho GOP Chairman and Steele backer Norm Semanko.
[…]
“Concern has been expressed among members of the Caucus that these two anti-Steele pledges/resolutions could be viewed as hateful toward Chairman Steele — regardless of what benign names they may be given,” Semanko wrote. “They are also considered arbitrary in that they, quite literally, purport to support anyone but Chairman Steele, without consideration of any particular candidate’s qualifications.”

Ahhh, tell ya what sparky. The dead white cat could do a better job than Michael Steele has. And you can feel free to target me for racist comments, I don’t give a rip. And I’d still be happy with Ken Blackwell but he’s not running. Frankly, I’m not sure I’d want to clean up Michael’s mess either. And, I see that when you are confronted directly by someone who isn’t cowed by Lefty tactics, you cut and run.

An aggrieved Semanko responded that he was merely asking “some simple procedural questions” about the conservative caucus.

“Rather than acknowledging my concerns and answering my questions directly, you have chosen to level a personal attack on me — a fellow member of the RNC and the Conservative Caucus,” he wrote, adding: “That is unfortunate, but I accept it for what it is; just more angry and negative than anything I could have imagined from a fellow conservative Republican.”

Semanko concluded: “I’m sorry to have taken up your time today. Blessings for a wonderful Christmas season and a happy New Year.”

Aggrieved? Heh. Tell ya what Mr. Semanko, go get a real job in the private sector. Or go on welfare, I don’t much care. Just go away. You’re worse than Michael Steele. You guys are trying to pass off a Victim Card for a guy who did an incompetent job. Who do you think you are Baghdad Bobby Gibbs and Barack Obama? And finally, speaking of Mr. Steele, it looks like his efforts to round up more votes than Semanko (if he can vote) and the bloc from Guam isn’t going so well.

The embattled chairman has won little additional support since announcing his re-election bid beyond his small band of loyalists on the committee. He suffered another blow Sunday night when Priebus announced that he had picked up the backing of California committeeman Shawn Steel, previously a staunch backer of the incumbent.

Maybe you can book your going away party at the whips and chains club your employees were frequenting. It could be a heck of a party. I won’t be there. But I’ll send my approval along, at least approving of your retirement. Have a nice life.
