God help the people of Arizona…
If we don’t the THE WORST politicians in the nation I’d hate to be where they are.
I’ve said any number of times that Jan Brewer is totally unqualified to be a Governor. She’s not a leader. She’s never had a job that required any kind of real leadership or decision making. The Secretary of State in Arizona is an administrative gnome with a big department and lots of responsibilities, but no real gut level decision making or leadership ability is required. She got the Governor’s job because Janet Nappy went to Washington. She’s another in a long line of Secretarys of State who’ve been elevated to the Governor’s job because the elected Governor went away. Every one of them has been an incompetent disaster.
I won’t bother with a discussion about John McCain or his yappy nemesis JD Hayworth. They are pathetic and patheticer on an entirely another level.
Back to Brewer. The woman has been in politics for 28 years. She’s been a gutless, brain-dead fool for a lot longer than that. Let me note that I will be voting for her in November because she’s probably better than Terry Goddard of the EvilParty. Brewer has gotten a bunch of good press because of SB1070. Please note that she had nothing to do with writing the legislation. She didn’t support the legislation when it was introduced or during the fight in the Legislature. When it was passed she had a week to sign it and right up to the point when she put pen to paper nobody had a clue if she would sign it or veto it. Since signing it she’s done a good job of reading her prepared-by-others-with-double-digit-IQs scripted responses. On issues other than immigration, Brewer is slightly to the left of either Charlie Crist or Arnie. Arizona is faced with a major budget disaster and her “solution” was to raise taxes and use Federal funds. Heaven forbid we would confront state employees or teachers. Her tax increases are “temporary” (three years) and I seriously doubt there will be any future Fed funds for Arizona. We are simply a disaster that’s been kicked down the road a couple of years. When we’ll have a significantly bigger disaster on our hands.
Oh well, lets get current.
Brewer needs campaign funds. The Arizona “Clean Elections” law (don’t ask if you don’t know) was all set to toss her about $1.7MM but she had to debate Terry Goddard, EP. So, here’s her debate performance, follow the link for the article in the Arizona Republic and to watch the most embarrassing 15 second video you’re likely to ever see…
That’s how long the governor needed to gather her thoughts Wednesday at a gubernatorial debate as her train of thought derailed midway through her opening statement and she struggled to get back on track.
Jan Brewer has been in politics for 28 years, but it only took 13 seconds to reshape her national image.
Brewer started to make a statement and went totally blank. Sat there for 13 silent seconds. And, gentle reader, that’s not all.
Brewer didn’t help her case after the debate when, faced by questions from reporters about a previous statement that there have been beheadings in the Arizona desert, she refused to answer them and escaped into a service elevator.
Brewer made any number of statements about border security and the safety of not only the citizens of Arizona but about illegal aliens. At one point she made a very high profile statement about finding beheaded bodies in the desert. I’m guessing she did the noodle work on that one by herself because the stuff that her handlers have written for her on the subject of immigration has actually been pretty good. Again from the AZ Republic…
Gov. Jan Brewer rose to national fame defending the state’s immigration law and warning of rising violence along the U.S.-Mexico border, including a claim that headless bodies were turning up in the Arizona desert.
But the claim has come back to haunt her after her stammering debate performance in which she failed to back it up and ignored repeated questions on the issue from a scrum of reporters.
Brewer has spent the time since backtracking and trying to repair the damage done from her cringe-worthy debate against underdog challenger Terry Goddard.
“That was an error, if I said that,” the Republican told the Associated Press on Friday. “I misspoke, but you know, let me be clear, I am concerned about the border region because it continues to be reported in Mexico that there’s a lot of violence going on and we don’t want that going into Arizona.”
“IF I SAID THAT…” Give me a break. So, she fell apart on a softball question at the start of the debate and ran like hell at the end to further avoid embarrassing herself with reporters. Sigh. Oh, and we’re not done. Yep. There’s more. If I didn’t know better, I’d think this pathetic woman was the Congressional Black Caucus. Well, on a somewhat bright note I think she’s just stupid and a fool, not corrupt to the core. Well, here it is. This time from the Red Daily Star (People’s Republic of Tucson)…
PHOENIX – Arizona voters won’t be seeing any more debates between the top gubernatorial contenders.
Incumbent Republican Jan Brewer said Thursday she has no intention of participating in any more events with Democrat Terry Goddard. She said the only reason she debated him on Wednesday is she had to to qualify for more than $1.7 million in public funds for her campaign.
Fortunately, he said with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek, Brewer is running against Terry Goddard. Goddard is a very well known politician in Arizona and he’s firmly on TheWon’s side on the immigration debate. Since about 70% of Arizona voters approve of SB1070, there’s little chance Goddard will be forgiven his socialist foibles. Brewer will will in a stumble. Unlike McCain who is probably smart enough to just stay out of the state for the next two plus months.
Anybody out there wanna make a package deal, your Senator and Governor for ours?
