Total Democratic Disconnect. Heh.

So, remember about, oh 16 months ago when all the big bucks pundits and editorialists were touting the death of the GOP? It even made the cover of Time, not that you’d have seen it of course, unless you’re one of the 37 people who actually subscribe to Time.

Anyway, we find ourselves just four months away from reading the results of the mid-term elections and guess who’s scratching for identity? Well, while the GOP may be struggling a tad with some squabbling between the Beltway Permanents (Graham, Bennett, etal) and the Tea Parties, there’s a real war going on in the Democratic Party.

I was going to note that there is a “war for the soul” of the Democratic Party going on, but they surrendered their collective soul to the political satanists forty years ago and have been distancing themselves from it on a daily basis since.

Anyway, the current squabble would be between the Administration and the Democratic Governors, and it’s a big enough deal – and a clear enough disconnect – to have actually made the top of the Politics section of The New York Times. The genesis of the squabble is the political reality out here on the Real Side of the Beltway, you know, the part of the country where the people who actually pay for the programs that get enacted in NeverLand live.

Today’s quibble? That would be the lawsuit that DoJ has filed against the upstarts in Arizona. And for a cute picture of just how far apart the Administration and the Governors are, picture this. The Governors meet with TheBoyPresident™ asking him to think twice about the suit and almost simultaneously the Attorney General appears on the Sundays proclaiming the Administration is considering expanding said lawsuit.

BOSTON — In a private meeting with White House officials this weekend, Democratic governors voiced deep anxiety about the Obama administration’s suit against Arizona’s new immigration law, worrying that it could cost a vulnerable Democratic Party in the fall elections.
[…]
At the Democrats’ meeting on Saturday, some governors bemoaned the timing of the Justice Department lawsuit, according to two governors who spoke anonymously because the discussion was private.
[…]
Gov. Phil Bredesen of Tennessee, a Democrat, said in an interview …”It is such a toxic subject, such an important time for Democrats.”

Gee Phil, “toxic”? Would that be any different than the toxicity of any of TheBoyPresident™’s other signature programs? Like healthcare? Or TARP? Or the job creation that has vaporized several million jobs and has the private sector of the economy sitting on it’s hands (and cash) because of the lack of certainty (and competence) of the Administration?

I frequently complain about the lack of leadership demonstrated by The Stupid Party. Frankly I’m really enjoying the total discombobulation of The Evil Party.

Have at it guys. And please expand the suit. Oh, and I can hardly wait for y’all to start defending the DoJ’s actions in dismissing the conviction of the NBBP and supporting their loud mouthed leadership.

Go for it.
